Hardeman County updates?

I hunted opening weekend both sat/sun. No a sound in the woods around us or on other property close by. Same thing this past Saturday morning(apr 11). 5 years ago we would have heard at least 10-12 different birds around us. Have no idea where our turkey's have gone to. We hunt in the Hickory Valley area. Just curious if anyone else is having any luck?

I've hunted two different areas in Hardeman, one in Whiteville and one in Bolivar. I had the same luck as you!!!!

I've killed 2 so far but it's definitly been a weird spring for sure. The birds didn't really start gobbling good (even on the limb) until about Thursday of last week so it's slowly picked up but has been really slow. All my hunting buddies report the same.

I hunt in Fayette County but I'm just across the county line near Whiteville. Our birds have been very quiet this season. And starting last Thursday we began seeing hens all alone everywhere trying to nest. I think they are a week or two ahead of last year. But for some reason not vocal this year.

I hunted Lincoln county yesterday heard no gobbles.

I've been to our place in Hardeman once so far and found no tracks and didn't hear any, did call in a hen but it didn't do much for my confidence in the place.
