Seen a laughable amount of turkeys this fall and winter? In all of my life I have never seen so many turkeys everywhere I have been this fall/winter. It appears as if we had some sort of super hatch 2 years in a row and has caused an explosion of birds.

I counted b/w 45-50 longbeards in a drove, in Campbell county 2 weeks ago, and can honestly say I have never seen that many in a wad anywhere in the country.

Anyone else?

My lease in Maury Co. is covered up we have 200 acres and during last season I counted over 70 birds in one hour. that was the longest hour of my life because they where all over me. Not one Tom in the bunch I noticed them later when I moved to get the felling back in my arse. Needless to say they saw me too. This year during Fall turkey in the feild across the Duck river from the lease there were at least double that and they clucked and yelped for three hours. I am fired up for April 3rd.Did I mention this is just one of the many flocks on this lease. Not the best place to Deer hunt but dangit it has the birds.

I didn't see a lot of turkeys, but I did have a group of toms that hung around and gobbled their heads off just about every morning. Nothing like sitting there in Dec. freezing your keester off deer hunting and listening to a group of birds hammer. If I hadn't of been 20' off of the ground I may have just thought it was spring!

I too have saw more Turkeys this Fall than ever before. Anderson co. is quickly getting covered up with Turkeys, flocks of 30-50 are not uncommon anymore.
