I have a gift card for bass pro shop and was going to use it on turkey calls.I thought woodhaven would be the best bet,any comments on woodhaven would be great.

What type of calls? Woodhaven calls are so expensive. The new MAD Aluminator is a great sounding call. I opened it last time I was at Bass Pro and was really impressed with the sound. I'd get that call before a Woodhaven and it's half the price.

I used a Copperhead on several dead birds some years ago, but as others note there are better calls for the money in my opinion. None currently in my vest and the likelihood of buying in the future is low.

Thanks but I got a lot of differnt calls and have killed Turkey with most of them and they are all cheap calls but sense I got a gift card and it wasn't going to cost me nothing ,I thought I would get a little better call.

I don't understand the red wasp following. I think it's average or a little better.

I started using Woodhaven about 15 years ago, when I would stop at a store near the Talladega National Forest to hunt. They were great calls then. I just don't like them anymore, plus they are expensive. Whenever they got popular is when their quality went down.
Also went through two aluminum calls in a season, they kept coming up glued. They replaced them for free, but I just quit using them. Thier crow call sounds good, but I had the same issue with it tearing up too easy as well.
Still good guys and good turkey calls, I have just moved my allegiances elsewhere.

BTW I still use their real cherry box, sounds really good.

Their red wasp 3-4 years ago was a great call. I don't know if they switched tape or latex but it's not what it once was for sure

Yea REN, I've used the red wasp in the old days, and it was decent, but not spectacular in my opinion.

I'm with callemquack, the copperhead and copperhead 2 where two of my favorites. Until they got real popular....

Over priced sub par calls IMO, plus the owner of the company is a huge prick. I was 100% woodhaven for years and used to go see Mike when he was making calls in his garage and hand delivering them to local shops. His head got big, price tag bigger, and quality went to poop.

As others have said there's 10x better calls for much less $$$.

It's a shame they went to trash, but it happens sometimes.

The MAD call StringMusic named is an outstanding call. Legacy mouth calls are also good and can be bought at Bass Pro

There are so many great options now for so much less money (houndstooth, Rush, gooserbait, halloran, legacy, tom teaser just to name a few l mouth call wise) that I will never buy another woodhaven call again. Just stupid how fast and expensive they got all the sudden all while quality and sound went down hill along the way
