To the folks that fish the Hatchie, how far upstream have the Asian Carp made it? Our property south of Hornsby has river frontage and we fish it frequently. We haven't seen any sign of them here....yet.

Yes sir, but I only get on the Hatchie a couple times a year. (Live 5 minutes from the river but hardly ever fish it)
What I meant was when you hit a school and they're jumping around you, you'll know.
It sucks.
Damn ugly things broke a fishin pole and cracked my motor cover.

Don't know why more people don't fish the Hatchie.
If I was closer to it, I would.

It's even been designated a "Wild & Scenic" River :)
But last time I fished it, about all I saw was mosquitoes.
I should fish it more. It's a hard river to fish, log jams everywhere. Very swift current. This past summer/fall when the water was so low, I picked up a couple of logs and carried them off for scrap metal. Tons of hooks in said logs.

Ah, but that's the very nature of a "wild & scenic" river :)
Great variety of fish can be caught by simple bass fishing,
including chain pickerel in the many adjoining sloughs.

You should fish it more.
Nice not having to deal with idiots on jet skis and big wake boats.

But if you really want to find some swift current and a hard river to fish,
come on up to the not-as-scenic Obion River, i.e. the big dredged ditch.

I/we fish the Hatchie all the time. A very easy river in our opinion to fish.
We first noticed the Asian Carp in 2007.
The current and logs/trees are no problem if you know what you are doing and you are not one of those guys with no common sense.
The mosquitoes have never been a problem to our group while we are in the river and not bank fishing.
