hate when they put on the brakes!

had 2 toms behind me gobbling and 3 down the ridge from me this morning. The 3 fly down pretty early gobbling like crazy, and wouldnt you know they come in trotting on a string. at 50yds they put on the breaks and just go half strut double, triple and quad gobbling lol. Stay for a few mins then head straight up in the woods behind me where the other ones are gobbling. Always crazy to me when they just draw a line for no apparent reason and roll out. Could have blasted any of the 3 at 50yds but was waiting on the 20yd shot. Either way was a fun morning seeing them just gobble over and over right in front of me. have no idea why they stopped but they for sure didnt peg me and I had a hen 60yds on the other side of me.

on a side note I WAS FROZEN! Like I still cant feel my hands

You're a better man that me. If I was .410 hunting, I would have just cussed them as they left. But if I went to the trouble of carrying around a bigger gun, I would have used it in this situation.

Had I had more then 1 tag left I prob would have but if I even fill the last tag I want it to be up close and personal!

That sucks, had a pair hang on me Wednesday at 60 yards. My gun is perfectly capable but my own rules have them a pass.

You aren't kidding about the cold. I'm afraid this season has done serious damage to my body. I'm freaking over it. My hands are over it, and my feet are done
