Does anyone hunt here. I haven't ever hunted this particular public land and was wondering if anyone else has. Might be looking for someone to hunt with if you would be interested. I only live a few miles from this place.

Doesnt seem to have Spring Turkey season...
In Williamson County. 200 acres. 200 acres, College Grove. Deer - Same as statewide seasons. Archery equipment only; archers must comply with legal blaze orange requirements during muzzleloader and gun seasons. Dove - Same as statewide seasons. Designated fields only. Dog training - Daylight hours only.

Manager: Tommy Edwards (931) 840-4042

Yeah I think last time i checked with TWRA they told me that you can't even shoot turkeys during bow season there. Don't know why there are a bunch there.

Its only 200 acres, can't imagine they'll ever allow gun hunting for turkeys there.

Glad y'all caught that. Looks like I will find another place then. Trying to find a couple back up places to take my 13 year old nephew. This will be his first season and I don't know who is more excited about it, him or me.

You can absolutely hunt turkeys there with a shot gun lol. It don't say deer it says big game. Difference. But there are no deer or turkeys there or Yanahli or Normandy. Ask Catman he will confirm no deer or turkey at any of those place only coyotes and armadillos

There will be turkeys at HJ in the fall when you are deer hunting and not allowed to shoot turkeys. During spring you can use a shotgun and I haven't had any luck, you'd have to get em right off the roost if they don't fly down onto private land. Last year I did see a pile of neck feathers so I guess someone shot one, but that was probably it. It's only 200 acres and mostly fields, very little timber at all.

There is a contradiction in the TWRA website on this, though ImThere is correct that the Regulations say Big Game.
I posted something from the main page of the WMA section.

Id ask the MGR to be sure or the TWRA page here.

A couple years ago the area manager told me in person that the WMA is open to spring turkey but not fall turkey. I'm not sure if it's changed or not.

Thanks guys. I wonder who owns the skeet/trap field. It might be worth asking them to set up one day in the corner of the field.

that is a private skeet range on public land, it's part of HJ but I think it's for some private school or some crap like that. I hope it's generating revenue for the WMA and not just taking up space. The shooting is obnoxious when trying to deer hunt.

It's a nice carry-out spot when they aren't shooting
