This morning didn't start out so good. Started in Maury county, We were working two birds right off roost and they were coming in hot, they got about 80 and a dog running a herd of deer barking every step comes out of no where and turkeys start flying all over the place. Well we hunted for a while longer and didn't have any luck.
My hunting partner had to be at work at 11:00 so we headed back to Lawrenceburg, I dropped him off and his truck and went home, I fished for a while in my pond and my fiancés brother called me and asked if I would take him somewhere, I said sure lets go. We took off to Giles county and we pulled up at the gate and was getting our gear out of the truck and I heard one gobble, we waited a minute or two and he gobbled again. I knew where he was so we took off and got set up made a couple of calls with the crystal mistress and he was in dead within 15 min gobbling the whole way.
We took him back to the truck and headed to the back of the farm. We got up on a high ridge and I blew a crow call and one gobbled not too far away, we eased down the ridge and set up, I heard some hens yelping in that direction so I started mocking them, I got them all fired up and here they come with a gobbler in tow. Bobby rolled him at 25 yards.
The bird I killed had 4 beards for a total of 30 in. That's my first multi bearded gobbler, we walked up to Bobbys turkey and I'll be danged if it didn't have 3 beards!
