Here we go again. So I bought myself a Bohning Right Helical fletching jig made for Blazers today. After making up one "Dummy" arrow. I am convinced that the helical fletch on my arrows fly truer than an offset fletch. These are using fusion vanes on Easton Axis nano-n-fused arrows. They "seem" more accurate from initial testing. I am using "Fletch-Tite" glue that they had off the shelf. I also stripped any residue off, then ran some Acetone on a cloth over it to clean and degrease the area before hand. I was having problems with vanes coming off before. I think I got it licked this time.

Acetone is a wonderful thing. :) What you noticed is not a fluke, and has been proven by testinga higher spin rate will equate to better flight and higher accuracy. However, physics does come into play and the faster the arrow spins the slower it travels due to the energy deflected during the spin rateand the louder it will be as well. Although, that loss of speed is not that great considering the relative short length to the target.

Right. I got the arrows chronoed before I changed the fletching. The were shooting right at 250 fps out of the bow. After I do a lot this I will 're-chrono them and post results. As of now, I don't have any "fliers" like I did with an offset fletch. I will measure dbs when I get a chance. The bow shot at 72 dbs before. Will post results of that later too.

You actually should not notice any difference with the out of the bow arrow speedthe arrows haven't had any time to "scrub" off speed. Also, I wouldn't worry about a great loss of speed because the loss will be minimal 5-10 fps at bestthe slight increase in noise will be greater than that loss of speed.

Well he accuracy I achieved trumps any noise or loss of fps as far as I am concerned.
