Help doing a fan question

I was going to do a fan . What kind of borax you use . I know they make 2 different kinds. The stuff you get a Walmart works or I have to get from the taxidermist

I have always used the box of Borax you can get at Wal-Mart...

I use the one from walmart on my spurs and my fans. seems to work fine haven't ever used the one from a taxidermist.

I also just use the kind of Borax you get at Wal-Mart. Make sure you get as much of the meat off as possible. I then soak the quills in "white gas" for a bit, careful to get a lot of the gas on the feathers, just the quills, to help dissolve some of the yellow fat and then take a wire brush to it to get them clean before you pin it and borax it.

I did 3 using regular Borax and 1 of the 3 never quit stinking. The other two ended up great. BTW I gave the stinky one to a buddy to use as a deke fan. lol

I've used regular borax for years and it works fine. They stink if it gets wet or if you leave too much mrat

The borax that comes from Walmart is the same as you get from a taxi supply theyalso sell a puffed borax at taxi supply that will work to the puffed is what I use I take a trash bag put in borax and fan and shake this will preserve and moth proof the feathers .

I started out using borax yrs ago. Now I use the hot glue gun. Do it the same as borax but cover everything with glue. If I take a newbie and they get a bird they can hang it on the wall the same day.
