Help duck ID??

My brother shot this yesterday. Can someone help me ID this for sure.

I at first thought black duck or mottled duck. The wing color patch is like blue/teal with hues of purple in some light.

I'm not seeing (from the photos) anything but black duck.

Looks like a normal black duck to me as well.

Leaning toward black duck, myself. Usually on mottled ducks there's a pronounced black spot where the jaws meet. Not really seeing that here.

Black duck hen for sure. Not much difference between hen and drake. Drake has more orange bill and hen has a olive colored bill.
