Guys I got a new lathe and need help to find the best place to get the slate, glass, glue, etc. to make a few pot calls for me and my buddies. The best size holes for the sound, any help would be appreciated. Thanks Bigdoc

Youtube will help with some of your questions.

I just saw some earlier today.

The link below is an awesome resource. Use Plumbers "Goop" as glue(purple tube) and it can be found at your big box stores like HD, Lowes, possibly even Walmart. Use a syringe(Google Monoject 412)to lay the beads around the ledge and pedestal to keep them clean.

Brookside Game Calls is who I have gotten my materials through. Prices are good and quality materials.

Hope that helps you some. Good luck!

I agree with PalsPal. YouTube can help you more than anything really. Great source for some fast info.

google Chad Hutcheson (stumpy) for your glass, slate, ceramic etc...

Discovering those answers while building your calls will be part of the fun of building them. Just experiment with different designs.

Brookside or Grassey Creek is where I get most of mine. You need to figure out how your are going to make the pots first. There are so many different ways to turn them, it just depends on what kind of accessories you have with the lathe...mandrels,4-jaw chucks, etc...... As stated earlier go to thogamecalls.com and look through the tutorials on building a pot and have fun.

Thanks Stoner, it's awesome that you are willing to help someone get a start trying to make a call. BTW where can I get a template?
