I have been thinking about getting a traditional bow for a while. I'm wanting a long bow. Now I don't know if that's the best thing to start with or not but that's the kind I want lol. I'll be honest, right now I want something cheap. I know you get what you pay for but I'm not the type of guy to go all out on something until I know I will like it. Can you guys give me some recommendations? I've seen some hand made ones on ebay for under a hundred bucks. I don't figure they would be the best but do you think they would be ok to use till I knew if I liked it or not?

If you buy an inferior longbow to see whether you like them or not, you are setting yourself up for disappointment. That said, there are a lot of quality longbows out there that are relatively inexpensive. I would suggest buying a good used bow. Check out the classifieds at tradgang.com or on the Bowsite's Leatherwall. Be forewarned that shooting traditional bows can be addictive. Good luck.

Not sure where Moss,TN is located but if you have a traditional 3-d club near you would suggest you attend one of the events. I've only shot traditional for 2 years now but the guys at these events (no matter where I shot) were always helpfull and most of the time would let you shoot their bows at the range or even on the course. Seems like these guys are always trading and selling bows so if you let it known that your looking I bet someone will have a bow in their truck for sale.
