Ok,got my bowstring on my bow, got my new tubeless G5 3/16 peep in my bow,but the dang thing doesn't wanna keep turning around right so I can see through it..I have to keep twisting it around..What am I supposed to do to get it to turn around properly?? Had a bad day shooting it,first shot was about 2 inches over the target, adjusted my sights, and then shot a bunch more and then my arrow blows right through the target and out the other side never to be seen again...So I learned something today...I need a new target..LOL So I lost 2 dang arrows,im pretty ticked..Anyway,any help on the peep??

You need to take it back to whoever put it in and make them adjust it.They should have done it before you left and let you shoot it several times to make sure it was set.Or did you do it yourself?

Shoot it another session or two then take it back and have them twist the string so it comes back straight. If its not off to bad you can twist your D loop a little and it will help it come back right.

No,I had the local bow shop put it in..Ok,i'll take it back to them monday...Surely they won't charge nothing..

You can take it back and have it adjusted, they shouldn't charge anything. If it is not too bad off just keep adjusting it by hand, sometimes it takes a little while to get it trained.

They shouldn't charge you.If they were really good they would have gotten it set up before you left.I always check mine after a few places told me it was "there".i pulled one back and it was in the wrong way.lol had several twisted to the side like yours.Always take a few arrows and shoot to make sure they got it right. It will make them mad but they calm down after you walk up and tell them you can't see sh.. through it.lol.They adjust it and it usually is there.

You might want to shoot the bow a little more to get the string settled in before taking it back to the proshop.I like to shoot a 100 or so arrows with a new string for it to settle in the cams good and allow for any possible creep that might occur .
I'll then set the peep inline with the string loop to start.

See if you can get the serving to slide away from the peep. Then transfer individual strings from one side to the other until the peep aligns correctly when you draw it. I never used super glue when I put a peep in a string to allow it to be adjusted. As the string ages it may have to be adjusted again.

Do NOT attempt that without a bow press, which I am assuming you don't have since you had a shop put it on. I wouldn't try that anyway. Way to much trouble. Shoot it a little more and take it back and have them twist the string, like people have said and you will be done with it. You could spend no telling how much time and presses of the bow before you got it right moving strands.

Evidentaly you have never worked on your own bow before. You do not need a bow press to change the string on most bows and you should be able to install a peep and serve it by yourself. If you are accustom to paying people to do simple things for you like this you might want to learn how to do some of it yourself. It's not too complicated.

I do work on my own bows. I do everything from installing peeps to changing strings and limbs. Please tell me how you can SAFELY change the string on most bows without a bow press?

On some bows , the (longer) limb bolts can be backed out far enough to relax the string . My PSE Mach X was designed that way . Most bows do need a press though.

Cecil if you had it done at Buckhorns, ask for Bonnie, she is the best one working there in my opinion. wouldn't let Mark mess with anything of mine.

Thats who done it..Its starting to turn around a little better today..Gonna give it a few more practice sescions...

Cecil it is just a matter of adjusting until it is good. Once you get it set it should hold. But strings will stretch. If the string stretches it will turn and need to be adjusted again.

Some things that will make a string stretch are: the material the string is made from (some string fibers stretch more than others), the length of the string(longer strings like on the one cam bows have a tendency to stretch more), the amount of twisting in the string, and the number one factor, HEAT. Keep your bow stored in a cool place. Never leave it in a car or truck in the heat more than absolutely necessary. The new synthetic polymers are suceptible to temperature changes.

Todays high quality strings from the custom manufacturers are very well made and will eliminate nearly all the stretching and twisting in a custom string. But exposure to vast temperature changes can and will twist a string. How much is dependant on these other factors.
