You would think a lone hen would go to where a gobbler was? but ive seen this same hen on a piece of property twice this week and once last week when there were two hens. There are a couple gobblers about a mile away but i have yet to see anything here. whats her deal?

Probably young of the year hens who are not ready to be bred and don't want to be harassed by any gobblers. This is quite common when birds begin to break up, and breeding hens lock onto a gobbler, many times their jennies end up alone and wandering by themselves.

Every turkey season we have a lone hen that hangs in one of the fields. She is never with a gobbler, but always there. Im not saying its the same hen but who knows.

I've seen a lot of lone hens especially ones that have flushed unexpectedly, I think they have been bred and are starting to nest but I'm not an expert.
