Behind my house
Well my neighbors house to be exact.
Neighbors were sitting on their back deck watching while I snuck up on this bird. No he is not tame, he almost busted me once when I heard him start to putt and lost sight of him. Then he went back to gobbling and I threw some clucks at him. He really thought I was a hen for the longest time because he would not stop looking for the source of my calls. Thanks to the big oak tree that kept me hidden and the Tndeer hat that camo'ed my head
He's the same bird I posted a pic of a few days ago gobbling on the roost.
CLICK HERE FOR VIDEO - it's less than 3 minutes long. Turn volume up and play in full screen... I can hear him spit in the video, can you?
Now for some pics which I also took between videos
This gives a perspective on how close i was - maybe 20-25 yards but I didn't step it off
Finally after getting sore and stiff from sitting in an awkward position... he saw some hens out in the field, and suddenly he had a new idea and made a beeline for the field...
I was able to get up and walk home without getting busted... if this bird is still around when season opens, and he is willing to come into my backyard, he is in a lot of danger...
