Anyone watched yet ?

Just got thru the 3 part series .

I didn't follow the trial all the close at the time as it seemed like a circus . Pretty cool seeing how they pieced the evidence together and got the conviction in the first trial .

Jose Baez was a miracle worker in his second trial . Just amazing he was not convicted there .

The few people coming forward that he was gay comes out of nowhere . Very strange . Not sure how much credit to give that .

The most ironic thing was the theory of why he killed himself only for the state changing the law a year later so his conviction would stand .

Unreal

the state changed the law because his victims pressed their govt. I didn't think his conviction stood tho since the law was changed after the fact. The other thing I've always wondered about was Hernandez killed his GF's sister's BF. I wonder how they've handled that thru the years.

The one thing that the series kind of debunk is that Hernandez was involved in gangs and gang activities in high school.

Seemed like the focus of "this" story was things fell apart for him after his father died , he blames his mother for screwing around shortly after his dads death and heavy weed smoking started getting worse .

The deflection about his head injury was certainly argumentative. Plenty of NFL players out there with head injuries not out there killing people .

Head injuries could explain a lot of the other thuggish behavior we are seeing in NFL based on some of the things they were saying related to brain damage . I've forgotten the clinical term they used .

Re: Hernandez Netflix

I enjoyed the documentary and agree with all things said. I didn't realize he was gay/bi until watching the video. The kid has his issues. I do wonder how different his life would have been had he been drafted to a west coast team or somewhere far away.

I bet Urban Meyer was squirming when he heard the documentary was coming out [emoji6]

IDK .. sorta easy for people to come out of the woodwork and say they had a homosexual relationship with Hernandez when he's not here to defend himself.

I agree Urban was probably terrified about what sorta slant they were going to put on Gators . I notice Mrs Myers did a nice job of blocking for him .

IMHO they were a bit too kind about his time in Florida . I think his time with the Gators fueled a lot of this . They sorta glossed over it and Urban came out looking like a saint saying they knew he had potential problems when he went home and checked in with him regularly with family members to make sure he stayed out of trouble . Sorta like he was deflecting the trouble he was getting into in Florida .

"Aaron Hernandez was recently cleared of involvement in a 2007 Florida double shooting."

Might of been why they glossed over the shooting in Gainesville....

I was not necessarily focusing on the alleged shooting . I was thinking more along the lines of the party culture he was involved in down there as they discussed , the strip clubs , the over abundance of tats and his overall behavior changes that took place while at Gators .

College football players getting ink and going to strip clubs is probably a common occurrence. College coaches are recruiting hundreds of kids a year and are limited on what they really know about these kids coming out of high school.

On the other hand the Pats are a billion dollar franchises that spends millions to do background checks and testing on players that they are drafting/hiring. The Pats didnt have a problem drafting him and he committed those murders while being an employee of the Pats. The only red flags on Hernandez coming out of college was failing drug test and bar fight.

No doubt the guy had issues and was a ticking time bomb but not sure that we can blame the Gators for making him a criminal..... That would be like blaming USC for O.J. committing a double homicide....:rotf:

They did point out that the Patriots did a background check on him and found his social score was in the low range . They knew what they were getting .
