hevi13

My little brother's gun throws a great patter with the heavi shot through his kicks choke. He hasn't had any issues with it.

I have a mad max .665, I get a good pattern out to 35 yds with winchester 3 inch number 4's. It gets pretty good out to 40 yds. But not like some people claim they get with hevi13 and nitros etc.. I have shot all types of reg turkey loads, 3.5 and 3 inch loads. The 3 inch number 4 do just as good as any I have tested so far.

thanks for the input. I did not want to damage my gun or choke tube since it says lead only. I do not shoot that much so I should be ok.

What shot size works best from 870 sm with .665 choke. If any one has similar set up. My gun likes number 4 shot in reg. turkey loads. I guess I will try number 4's in hevi 13 first.

I would try #5's first, if your gun patterns well with #4 lead.

A #5 hevi SHOULD give you a much denser patter than #4 lead, and have comparable per pellet energy to the #4 leads.

I`m bringing home a box of 3.5" #7 and 3" #7 in 20 ga. it is time to see how these work. I hope for at least slightly warmer weather as the pellets fly better in warmer weather.

My gun does not like the 5's in lead. The 6 shot pattern better than 5's. And number 4's did better than all of them. I guess I will try the hevi number 6 or 7.
