Since college football is a wash...what high school games are we following/attending this fall?? I'm making the trip to Portland to watch my son and the Westview Chargers this Friday. Anybody know anything about the Panthers? Westview picked up this game since their county rival, Dresden, had to quarantine for two weeks. Chargers should be able to score but defense will be suspect again this year.

I would love to go and watch Ty Simpson play QB.

My wife made the comment that only parents could attend the games here in Huntingdon. I'm sure she read it on FB or just heard it from a birdie. I'm wondering if she is right. I usually watch quite a bit of High School ball and will miss it if so.

Huntingdon plays Mckenzie. Has been a great rivalry as long as I can remember. I think Mckenzie closes the gap this year and it should be a great game. I'm not feeling as good about our offense this year.

Ty is a special athlete for sure. He and my son have played football, baseball, and basketball together since they were in kindergarten. Huntingdon and McKenzie should be a good game, those in country rivalries always are. We bought tickets for the Westview game online and I haven't heard of anybody not getting a ticket but I'm sure that is up to each school on how they handle ticket sales.

I'll be keeping up with him these next two years and hoping Pruitt and company will get him to sign with the Vols. From everything I gather, he is a special talent. Was glad to get a commitment from ya'lls kicker as well. He must be pretty awesome too. Good luck to ya'll this week.

One of our own (BigLefty) is a coach for Richland and I believe they kick off tonight. Good luck to everyone this year.

I hope the hs kids get a full season in. I felt bad for the baseball players because they cant be granted another year of eligibility like college athletes have.

There will definitely be a log jam for a couple of years for the high school kids wanting to play any sport in college. With the extended eligibility for athletes already in school there will be less opportunities for incoming kids. Simpson could very well end up at Tennessee, I know LSU and Alabama have already had 2022 QB's commit. Pruitt needs to come around more...I see Harbaugh and Lincoln Riley from Oklahoma in town and at Westview quite often.

Yeah his offer list is extremely impressive and will continue to grow

That's funny that people that can't stand high school football would even slow down and look at a post titled "high school football"...if I see a post titled "best pumpkin pie recipe" I wouldn't waste my time looking at it because I can't stand pumpkin pie. My grandmother had a saying, don't yuck somebody's yum. Friendliest place on the internet...haha

College football is going to be played.

Yep. And if Clay Travis continues to pound on it, the Big 10 commissioner may be forced to reverse his decision.

Love high school football. Watching Brentwood Academy vs Lipscomb on the computer and Stewart's Creek vs
Mt. Juliet on tv. My buddy's son plays for BA and i coached the Stewart's Creek qb in baseball when he was younger. His dad and I played football together and graduated high school together.

Not fair at all . HS football is feeding ground for College football so everything that happens in HS football is directly relevant to College football .

I hate pumpkin pie too . But if I saw a thread on it I might be inclined to click on it to tell people how much I hate it :)

Sounds like there is a lawsuit in the works, to be filed Monday.

Why?

Some of these players (NFL prospects) have a lot of money potentially at stake.

All but one of the Big10 schools are public institutions thus all of their meetings, votes, and other administrative details are of public record. The parents of the players want to see the commissioner Kevin Warrens logic/reasoning for nixing college football games. Especially when he is allowing his own son to play in the SEC. It is not logical to have all students on campus(including players), dorms open, cafeteria open, teams will still practice, workouts etc..yet no football games. Purdue is supposed to have their largest incoming Freshman class in history. Really all Kevin Warren did was ban football games. The commissioner is allowing all intramural sports to go on. He claims there was a Big10 vote to cancel but many coaches and AD's dispute that. He also claims the players thoughts were taken into account. Not a single player says they were asked their opinion.

I saw some highlights of the area high school games on the news Friday night. Each game had a LOT of empty seats.
