Cool video, love the realism of things not going perfectly at the shot and the set up discussion. I did notice ole Zachary had the fan ;) :D

So, they don't all run to the fan? Interesting :D ! That fan may have cost you guys a double or triple.

At first, I thought the second shot was at the one in the tree, then I saw your comment on Youtube.

Exciting hunt, and great video as usual.

How do you turn the camera and zoom in and out with your gun up? Where do you position the tripod when you're set up?

I did have the fan lol, when they first came over the rise I could have killed them easy but Jonathan and mark couldn't shoot, they didn't see a hen and dropped back off the hill out of sight, we called them back over the rise and once again I could see them but they couldn't, they were about to get out of there so I picked up the fan and showed it to them and they came on up where they could get a shot.

No worries dude, I was just poking at you a little. Your calling sounded really freaking good by the way as did cat on the wing bone. Enjoyed the video as most can relate to the decisions and strange things that happen during a hunt

It didn't cost us anything, it actually allowed them more time to shoot, I could have killed them when we first called them in but when the toms didn't see a hen and went back over the rise I pulled it out of my vest just in case, we called them back and I could see them but once again they couldn't, I picked the fan up and they presented them a shot. The fan did nothing but present them another shot, I was fixing to kill one if they didn't shoot.

Good video Cat, ZM, and HH. Nothing like hearing them gobble, close the distance in the hardwoods, then go totally silent or more silent the last 40-80 yards of the approach. If that does not get your anxiety and adrenaline level up, nothing will. For what it is worth, that setup in those dense woods made it really difficult and unlikely to pull off the double, regardless of who the hunters/shooters were. As we all know, sometimes you have to play the hand you are dealt and just sit down and let it unfold. The lack of foliage, which allowed them to "telescope" and check out the flat ground for the hen, did not help that situation either. Again, great video, congrats HH, and thanks for sharing.

Once again a great realistic video. I appreciate how much prospecting it took to finally find birds and then the strategy. Open hardwoods it's hard to hide but use the terrain features as much as possible. A very nice mature gobbler. Congrats!
