Just wondering how they perform on deer and hogs? The hornady 162gr eld x or m. I am looking at using them in my new rifle. A browning xbolt 280AI rifle. Mite even try the 166gr A Tip.

What part of the state are you in? I'm outside of Memphis and just built a 280ai (no optics yet). I got some 180 Berger vld's to try. But I haven't gotten any brass yet.

I do have some 178 eld x in a 30-06 that's bad medicine for a deer. Also have some 212 eld x to try in a 300 win mag, but can't get my hands on any magnum primers.

Cannot speak to the performance specifically in the 280, but have been very impressed so far with the 178 grain eldx in 308 and the 143 grain eldx in 6.5 cm. Bang flops on every deer I have shot with them, varying ranges from 50 yards out to just under 200. Very accurate in the loads I have worked up. Haven't shot any pigs, but both have left massive exits on the yotes I have shot with them.

I have loaded eldx for 270 as well, but have not hunted with that rifle in several years. Well be loading eldx in 243 and 6arc soon as well.

I fount some of the berger 150gr classic hunter. I been looking high and low for berger 175gr elite hunters. No luck. I know the 140gr and 168gr vld will do damage! I missed out on some 166gr A Tips. Midway had 2nds for 31.00 a 100. Seen them that morning. Went to buy them in the afternoon all gone.
