Definitely best gobbling I've heard all year. Hunting new ground I have never set foot on before. Zero gobbles on roost, but heard one way off at sunrise. Moved closer and he fired up across a hollow. Called him across the hollow, watched him strut, shot thru brush and missed. Headed out and ran to another spot on the same property. Climbed to top of ridge, called and got a gobble right out in a private field close by. Called him in to 20 yards in 5 minutes, got busted trying to situate myself. Had either same bird or another hammer back at me several times in the next 20 minutes, but no show. Struck 2 birds way off across big hollow. Slid down one side, climbed up the other. Got them really fired up, but I'm looking at the boundary 20 yards away. Listening to them hammer every few seconds now, trying to figure out if I should stay on this finger or move over to the next one. Can't get any closer either way.

Definitely good day so far, except the miss, I should have been done by 7:15 this morning.

How are the woods sounding for y'all today?

I've only been in the woods on every Saturday morning but today was the worst. Few gobbles on the roost and a couple after they flew down but nothing else. Saw 3 longbeards and beard a 4th but couldn't quite get em close enough.

Today was my 4th Morning hunt.
Had 2 roosted where I always top out. I had to come up a different part of the hill. They were on fire. Got them within 60 yards drummed and carried on. Never got a shot.
I'm back over here again bout to see if they're still around

Hmm must just be here then. The 2 that were gobbling nonstop faded away between 930 and 10. I got to a better vantage point 45 minutes ago but haven't heard a gobble. Got all day and tomorrow to chase em so we will see.

Heard two gobbles on roost and 2 later when he hit the ground. My interested in me though. I've at least heard something gobble my last 4 hunts. I just need to do my part.

Just called in another one. He fired up as I was about to leave. Had him at 30-35 yards just waiting for him to cross the property line. Skirted me and gobbled over the rise, I slid back 30 yards and called and he answered, but went back to the private field. Guess I will check a new spot just to get some scouting in. I've called in 3 birds today, haven't killed one yet.

They were burning it up on the roost and I heard a few after fly down but nothing close. Went to another property at 10:30 and had one hammering and coming to me but as he was coming in he had to pass within 80 yards of a house and right as he was coming by it the owner came out to feed the dogs and spooked him back the way he came from. By far the best gobbling day for me so far.

I hunted Ky today and heard the most gobbling in a couple of years. Worked a couple but they just wouldn't close the distance. Left a gobbling bird at 1300, because I had a to meet someone at noon (he understood).

Hunted my new place in Rossville this morning. I had a friends son who had never killed a turkey with me. A gobbler lite it up at 5:50 a.m. and we quickly got set up. After a few soft calls, each answered with a thunderous gobble, he few down in our laps at 6:03. Zack Tucker put the big Benelli hammer on his head and we had a turkey flopping! Lady Luck was definitely with us.

Pretty slow first thing this morning only heard 1 on the roost. Struck a couple between 8-12 but each had hens that quickly led them away. Got one fired up about noon and had my hands on him by 12:30. It just got better after that, we ended up killing 3 between noon and 2:30.

I went back this morning to where I got busted. Half way up the hill a bird gobbled almost on top of me. Then they gobbled again, 3 of them. I was able to sneak around the point into a smaller draw and come up ahead of the birds and set up where I had wanted.

When they flew down the drifted off to my left, going down the ridge line next to a big private field behind me. I'm gonna reposition soon so I'm facing the field but 40 yards back from it. Will call and wait a while. still hearing occasional gobble in different directions.

Finally,
I heard 1 bird gobble about 700yards away, after not hearing anything since opening weekend this was rewarding enough. I start walk to the back of the property. Right about sunrise I hear a hen calling to my left. Then 3-4 different birds start gobbling all in different directions the closest being 100 yards away. I find a spot and get settled and I called in his hens to about 50yards but, he stayed 60-70 yards back in the woods. And has he left the hens followed. But this I the best morning I've had so far this year.
Woods have been quiet since about 7:30.
Crazy that from the start of the season to Friday Nothing, not many track or birds around, then today it sounded like it normally does during the season and several fresh tracks in the fields.

Slow still for me. Gobblers on my place are back to running together but not gobbling, no strutting, just hanging out.

They gobbled good again today, maybe better than yesterday, but nothing would commit. A couple of them hung together with hens, but the others I tried to work never showed, so I don't know. Went to try a new spot at 1230 but nothing answered, went to take a lunch break and nap. Now am about to head back out, in the direction I started this morning where the 3 birds were roosted. Gonna wait there till sunset most likely, only will move if I strike a hot gobbler somewhere.
