This game might be looked back on at the end of the season as the game that decides the future of the program.

It will be interesting because a win could get things going in the right direction. A lost could get this spiraling out of control in a hurry and basically empty Neyland.

At this point, every game left is critical (except Alabama). I do agree though, if they win this one, the confidence is better to beat the final 5 teams. Pulling out a bowl game would be a miracle at this point. Losing to Miss St, there is really nothing else to play for, other than the love of the game.

It the big scheme of things, it wouldn't change anything at this point, win or lose. With that being said, I consider it to be a huge game for the Vols. It is winnable but dang sure wont be handed to us. We will have to work for it. While our offense has a lot to learn, it is our defense that needs to "step it up" at this point. They are really bad.

And he is suppose to be a Elite defensive coach. Right?

Doesn't mean a thing. Next game to matter will be the first game of next year.

So scrap the rest of this year? Doesn't matter if they win or lose?

It's a lot easier to be an elite defensive coach when you have elite defensive players with experience

He may not have time then

IMHO I really don't think it matters. vols don't have a lot of W in the future this season. A W at Vandy would be like a National Championship at this point and could be a chance for Pruitt to keep his job. A L I doubt he stays.

Might as well focus on getting the younger kids focused and ready for ball next year and get them some playing time at this point.

I agree, put the future guys in! We have absolutely nothing to loose.

Fan bases have a big influence on programs nowadays with social media. This last TN hire was a great example of how the fans can influence a program.

If Tn loses against Miss St., CJP will lose a lot of fan support this season and empty seats will get a coach fired. The stadium had a lot of empty seats near the end of Fulmers coaching career. This past game had a lot of empty seats even with a big turnout by Ga fans.

TN needs to win this game and improve to keep the fans engaged.... :tu:

The new qb needs to quit turning the ball over ( interception and fumble returned for touchdown) and survive injuries or he may not be the new qb long.

maybe we should give it back to JG who doesn't turn it over much but isn't a winner?

Understand that BM is a true freshman who is going to make mistakes.

I do pray he don't take any more hits like the one that caused his fumble. That was bad

Your last line brings up a good point. Sometimes it's not a good thing for a young QB to take a lot of hits. It all depends on the individual but it can also hurt their development. I'm not sure we haven't saw that with JG? He took a beaten last year and has regressed in his development.

JG didn't have it 2 years ago...or last year...and certainly not this year.

The hits might have taken a toll on him but be honest.....he is not a good qb and never has been.

I agree with a lot that has been said on here.
Honestly I don't see them winning another game except for MAYBE UAB and that is not a gimmie by any means.

With that said, IF they continue to play the new quarterback and IF they can keep him from getting killed they have a much better shot at winning 3 or possibly even 4 games.
