I ordered a new set of arrows and they came with pin nocks installed. I want to use Bohning press in nocks so I need to pull the pin nocks. I tried one with pliers, and it was a no-go. I've heard not to heat carbon arrows, any ideas?

You can heat the pin and see if that works. They are probably set with super glue instead of hot melt though so it could be tough.

From the front drop a heavy drill bit inside the shaft and swing it down. That will knock it out. If you aren't careful you might lose the drill bit though.

So I need to take the front insert out to put the drill bit in to get the nock insert out? I hope they are not set with super glue as well. This is going to be fun.

Do the arrows need to be cut down at all? If so you can cut from the nock end and that will solve the problem. If there are already inserts installed I wouldn't pull them to try the drill bit.

I'd try a little heat first if the inserts are already installed. Can you call whoever you got them from and ask how the pins were installed?

if you don't have inserts in yet, put as large a drill bit as you can fit down in the shaft. Sling it so that the drill bit hits the insert from inside. be careful though when it comes out you'll have no idea where it's gonna go. LOL
