Hey y'all. I know it says I'm a new member but really I'm not. I just have a bad relationship with technology. Anyway, at 47 years old, I still can't sleep before the 1st hunt. I'm not even hunting today! I'm just gonna sit in a tree and hope I hear a shot from my son, but I'm still way too excited to sleep. I honestly can't think of one time in my life that I've been able to sleep before the opener, whether it was archery or gun. I wish you all great luck!

Yeah I feel you brother. I miss my dad every time I hunt. I'm lucky enough to have a son that loves it and I'm still passing on things I learned from my father.

Slept good. First hunting season in 39yrs without my dad - "the deer slayer". He could wack and stackem! He was if it is brown it's down. I tried the wait game for a nice buck and it is just not as much fun. He taught me hunting is fun! Be safe and enjoy hunting.

What is this thing you call sleep? I am not familiar with that term LOL

Let's go Brandon!! Oh wait….off subject

I sleep better these days but I sure remember those sleepless nights. I'm not too mad at em anymore but will always enjoy hunting regardless. Good luck to your son! Why aren't you hunting as well? You said you would be in a tree so why not tote a gun

Fitful. We've got an ongoing timber cut happening and for the first time in years, I had no idea where I would hunt. Things have been changing daily and I excel at overthinking. I finally decided just to walk in, find a comfortable spot, enjoy the woods, and hope for the best. That was at 3:43 this morning after sleeping for maybe 20 minutes.

Still better than being at work.

Welcome Brandon! Best of luck to you and your son. I am blessed to be hunting with my 28 year son today. To your question, I slept fours last night which was twice the sleep my son got!
