im shooting decent and keep trying new ways.what works best for you?i like to let go as soon as i hit full draw and not hold so im sure that makes it harder but thats half the fun to me :D im shooting off the shelf.

I used to try gap shooting. Here's what I do now.

Pre-draw, I line the string up with the center of the riser and with my arrow. I look down the shaft and line it up with my target. I pull back to full draw while keeping the arrow, string and riser lined up and keeping the arrow shaft trained on my target. I anchor with my index finger (I shoot three finger under) on my canine, hold it as long as I need to make sure all of my alignment is still correct and I let fly.

I stare intesely as I can at the target while drawing to anchor (middle finer on canine) and then increase back tension until the release happens. I don't intentionally look at the bow, string, arrow, or anything else but the target. I'm sure I see them but not on purpose because I'm concentrating hard as I can on the smallest spot I can see on the target.

I'm far from an expert, but I pretty much do as Hogbear, even the same achor.

I do try to start my initial concentration just before the draw.

thats exactly what i do but i don't hold.maybe thats why a few fly high .i only aim before i draw and when i hit full draw im only looking at the target.its so much fun when that arrow hits right where im looking :D

my biggest deal is getting to anchor smooth and not throwing the string.trying different release styles to follow through.any tips?

I can't actually say. I have my bow pointed at the target before I draw, concentrate on the spot and release within a half a sec of touching anchor. if I hold and aim, I will pull off.

Nice video. Once I get my initial grip on the string, I don't think about my string hand anymore. At realease, besides concentrating on the target, I'm only thinking about pulling with my back muscles and pushing with my bow hand. Increasing the back tension and rotating the elbow slightly more back makes the release just happen.

im trying to pull through the shot and that seems to help with not throwing the string.

btw guys what broadheads do you shoot?ive looked at the magnus 3 blade because thier cheaper and should give a good trail but i like that the stinger is replaceable blades.im not sure if i could get the 3 blade sharp.ive never been good at sharpening broadheads.i thought about going with a 2 blade but it seems some don't get good trails with them and i don't want that.

magus snuffer for me. I get the tool marks off the edge with a belt sander, then go to a stone, then diamond stone then ceramic sticks. some say you want the rough burr edge from a file. I feel if that is the case, why are the replacment blades for others surgical blades?

I pick a spot and burn a hole in it when i draw. As soon as I hit anchor I release. That's how I learned and if I think about the shot I'm wayyyy off.

Any three is easy! 400 grit belt lightly to get the tool marks out and If you don't want to go to a stone put em on a worn out belt for just a bump.

Here's a Magnus Snuffer Hole and this is why Eddie and I shoot them. 15 yds quartering away. 1 leap and down red as soon as it hit her. took a pic of the hole before I drug her out and it didn't turn out. Took 1 after I got out of the woods that's why she bald!

wow thats impressive.guess i need to try them

My style (if you can call it that) is just like throw'n a rock, I keep an eye on whatever I'm shoot'n at as I draw my bow, sometimes I release as soon as I reach full draw & sometimes I hold for a few seconds to kind of do a mental check to give myself time to make sure it "feels" rite.

If you need help or just curious about different shoot'n styles check out the masters of the bare bow dvd's, volume 1 (I havent tried the other 2 volumes) has plenty of good useable info on it, shoot'n techniques & equipment set up.
