How long do mineral blocks last?

I dont know but.. I put out a brown mineral block from the feed store probably 4 -5 years ago and the deer are still eating the dirt there.. at one point back in the spring.. the hole was 3 feet dia and a foot and a half deep.. I had some bulldozing done this spring and it got covered up.. well they have started back on it and have it dug out to the size of a basketball now..

Wow, I wouldn't have thought that long. With the lack of rain around here it might last forever! Lol

I'm sure that there are still "trace" amounts of salt and minerals in the site. Also the deer that are using it "remember" that there was at one time somthing good there and their offspring have learned from mom that there is somthing that they like.
Sounds like it would be a great spot to refreshen with another bag [block] of salt/minerals.
