Pick up a rifle during gun season? I haven't killed one with a rifle in years and while it has cost me some really nice deer not having a gun, I wouldn't have it any other way. I just don't get any satisfaction out of shooting them with a gun. Am I alone?

This is my first bow only yr. Tough as all get out. Usually I would have 15 or more does and a buck or two. I have killed six does and two spikes but wouldnt trade those in for a hundred mzl kills. Ain't picked a rifle up in 10 yrs

I haven't picked up my rifle this year either, but only because I haven't had time to hunt anywhere except the property around where I work, and it's archery only. I've killed 3 with my bow this year though, and usually I don't kill any more than 1 or 2.

Tournament season ruined me from wanting to bow hunt. All I done last yr to August this year, was shoot my bow. I even brought one of my targets inside the house to shoot on windy and rainy days. When I finished with the ASA Classic in August, I was ready to throw the bow down and not even look at it. I didn't deer hunt until ML season. Bow hunting use to be the ultimate hunting thrill for me and I didn't like gun hunting at all. Now the tables have turned a bit. I like ML best of all, and rifle is starting to grow on me quite a bit. But I get more thrills out of tournament shooting with a bow than I do killing a deer with a bow.

I've bowhunted most of the year with the exception of taking my rifle a couple times. I've had a great year with the bow and the times I had my gun I almost felt like I was cheating. Bowhunting is hands down my favorite way to do it. I feel like it makes you become a better hunter because you have to be on top of your game to consistently get deer within bow range, especially mature bucks...something I can't seem to do lol

I am scared that I will see the biggest buck I have ever seen 50-60 yards through open hardwoods and all I have is my bow. This is because it has happened before. December 4th, 2008, I took my bow and it happened. Part of hunting, but it was also sickening at the time. Laughable now, although I still haven't seen one that big since then.

I've killed double with my bow vs gun....doesn't mean Im some elite archer or anything I just seem to put more time in the woods with my bow.

I took my muzzleloader and bow with me for a few hunts. It was a pain and most of the time I never even put a primer in the gun anyway. I've just been taking my bow since about mid November. I've tried but gun hunting just doesn't do much for me.
