How much pre season scouting will you do between now and april 2. I'm going saturday to listen and scout some and hopefully every weekend till season, but just dont wanna spook any birds from the area.

As much as possible.

Not spooking the birds is easy. Where as much camo and use the same amount of caution as you do when you are actually hunting. When possible observe from afar.

Turkeys do not respond to pressure in the same way as deer. They can't smell and they have to move during the day. As long as you are not in there bumping them everyday, multiple days in a row, they generally stick around.

Next week as much as I can afford the gas for. It's spring break from college so I will get out there as much as possible.

none...

i have the luxury of showing up and picking from several birds usually... very fortunate.

may go listen and roost some on Friday evening before and that will really depend if the water is still out..........

I will start going every other day for an hour in the mornings starting next week. both my spots have places you can get into without spooking anything to listen and/or see.

funny thing is last year i did the same thing and for 6 mornings in a row i had approx 45 birds flying down into this one wheat field. Opening morning i go set up in said wheat field and they flew down in the field on the other side of the creek from me which they had not done for 7 days lol

goes to show you NOTHING is a sure thing in the woods.
