How often do you have your bow tuned?

Thanks, I have had it for 6 months and the bow seems to be shooting fine. So I guess I can assume that no need to be concerned before Sept. as long as things stay the same. I have waxed the string once but thats about it. Thanks for the input!

New to bow hunting and was wondering about maint. schedule or tune up.
Depends on what you expect out of your bow....personally I would say you should be tuning it every time you shoot, shooting a few rounds three-five times a week or more. Most people get a new bow and some shop slaps it together and levels and aligns everything and says that you are ready, but I promise you it is FAR from ready. Lots of good (and bad) tuning advice on archerytalk.com. Learn how to measure your bow to know when it is out of spec, cams are out of time, cam lean, wrong arrows, rest timing, etc... Read up on paper tuning with bare shafts and fletched arrows, bare shaft tuning at 20 yards, walk back tuning, French tuning, broad head tuning, etc... You will enjoy your bow a whole lot more when you learn how it works and why it doesn't. Learn proper shooting form. Talk to people that shoot a lot and get pointers if needed. Lots of videos on youtube about form, tuning, etc... Archery is a lot deeper than just slingin an arrow at a target a few times before heading to the woods. One more thing, get a good wax like string snot and apply it about every 100 shots or anytime you get it wet or dirty.

I'm like Rob. I'm always tinkering with something. I go over all the mesurements, check my d-loop and peep, and just a general inspection about once a month unless it's coyote season then I don't mess with it.

Mine gets tuned pretty much every time I shoot....(which is about 4-times per week)....

Let me add this.... I never adjust anything major after a single practice session.... I have shot really bad before and could swear that my bow was falling apart... Give the muscles a couple days to rest, then go back out and split hairs.....

If I run into the same problem two or three sessions in a row, then I get the hammer....

When I notice erratic arrow flight or when I make a change in my setup that would affect the bow tune. I also tune just prior to shooting broadheads for the first time each season.
