I have been blessed the last 3 years to live on a farm where there is hunting right out my door.

I keep 5 trail cams out year round.
But ive never been told or gotten advice on how to run trail cams during the deer hunting season...

So now that its hunting season how often should I wait from pulling pics one time to the next pull? ie how often can I pull pics? I love getting the pics of deer but dont want to frequent the areas so much I mess up the hunting.
?

Lastly im guessing I should be pulling pics in full scent control of my scent right?
Or could I just drive right up in my rig and rubber boots and pull them?

Thanks in advance. I want to get better with cams.

Ideally driving right up to the camera to check them leaves no scent at all but then you're in a situation where you aren't very remote. I've never killed nor has anyone I know killed a buck that had on camera in that same location. You're bucking the odds even more if you check cameras often in the area you hunt. They're fun to run and see what you have but I think they probably limit your chances at taking deer filmed.

I'll usually check once every couple weeks, wife just killed a buck last weekend that we had on camera. Just be sure to watch your scent.

I never would of imagined no kills where you get pics,I have killed a dozen or more in the same location.

RCH...Let me clarify....I've never killed what I deem to be a shooter buck caught on camera in the same location. I don't know of but one person I hunt with that has either.

I go every two weeks and have to walk down logging roads to get to the cameras. I can drive to them on the tractor or scratch the paint up on the 4Runner but walking is just as easy. I carry blank SD cards in the right pocket and full SD cards in the left. If it's battery time, those are in the cargo pockets.

From yesterday's pull:
