Im still confused by it. Probably because ABC decided to show on the last half of the last lap, the 8th and 9th place cars while Gordon made the move.

But to pull out from behind you teammate (on other laps, on this lap, now your nearest threat in the points) and then pull in front of a #20 who easily had several MPH built up in a charge, then take one heck of a slam from #20, the use both lines behind you, all to lead but one lap of the race?

I recorded it, I have watched it over and over again. Some of the best driving I've seen in years. I think Stewart tried to be like the ole #3 from back in the days those last laps, and #24 just waited patiently, and at the perfect moment, showed #20 how #3 really would have done it.

I thought it was a great move. He did the right thing leaving his team mate as Tony was on the move on the outside and Gordo saw his opportunity and acted on it.

It's every driver for himself on that last lap . I like to see drivers race to win , and not settle for second or a good points day . Maybe the chase is finally making that happen . :)

When it comes to winning...last lap on a restrictor plate track especially.... that was a move on Gordons part, timed it perfectly. Only thing I dont like to see...there were 1000's of fans that payed good money to watch a "race" not to watch a few guys drive around the in circles all day to race the last handful of laps and win... but I am not knocking Gordon, he did what he needed to that was WIN. I guess I am one that likes to see the best cars up front having a battle all day.

That moved shows why he is one of the best, if not the best driver out there now. It's differant when you have a car that just dominates everyone, but a good driver in a restrictor plate race definetly makes the differance.

I've only seen one other driver that could decipher the draft like that! He's not alive now, but I'm sure that the 24 learned that somewhere down the line from chasing the 3 around at a restrictor plate race. championship move from argueably one of the best racers
ever. Must of shocked the crowd cause they forgot to throw beer cans!

I dont think there is much doubt as to who is the best driver in Nascar right now!!

I am not a fan of Jeff Gordon, but I will say this:We are seeing one of the 4 greatest drivers ever at the peak of his talent.Enjoy it.His win at 'Dega was every bit as impressive as Earnhardt's in 2000.
