Looking for idea's or opinions!
This morning I got on the first bird gobbling on the roost, I hunt river bottom and there is water EVERY where not to mention my access points to the woods are limited due to ditches that are from knee deep to waist deep in water. It is very difficult to "sneak" anywhere through the woods because of water and it being old select cut timber.
Back to this morning:
I got within 150 yards of him on the limb, he gobbled 12-15 times and I seen him fly down along with two hens (all that I saw). I called softly one time to let him know I was there and put the calls down until I seen him hit the ground. Once on the ground he never made another sound but I conversed back and forth with a hen, they ended up skirting me and for fear of bumping them I chose not the pursue and went back in this evening to try and catch them coming back to roost. I was successful so to speak as I watched them fly up but they had made a huge loop and came in from behind me and roosted above the ditch that goes through the timber. I did not pin point him on the limb but was within 80-90 yards of the hens, I waited till dark and eased out to avoid spooking them. I could see the silhouette of one of the hens as I was leaving but not sure how I want to approach them in the morning.....
I think I am going to get in there extra early and get setup in the direction they headed this morning and just sit and wait, not even make a sound and see what happens. I have a bridge across the ditch that will put me within 100 yards of them on the limb and if they follow suit, in the direction they went this morning.

What would you do and why ?
