Do I go out hunting in the morning just to hunt??? The chances of me getting on a bird is slim to none, yet the hunter in me wants to go. I have never kill, or gotten a shot at, a strutting Tom and I long to do it before ....before I hang it up for good.

Carl, if I were closer I'd go with you unless you are intent on going it alone.

If you know there are birds where you plan to go, just try to camo up the chair. It is possible to get one close enough to your shooting house if you plan to hunt from it.

Good luck!

Thanks PalsPal, unfortunately the farm I need to hunt is inaccessible for me alone due to the access gate configuration. Once I get in the woods, I'm not overly concerned with blending in.

I always hunt just to hunt, most of the time I don't even carry a gun any longer. I just could care less about killing a turkey, but still love to call, chase, work, and generally watch them. I never get tired of looking at them or hearing them gobble.

I've been listening to my pet birds gobble for the past 6 months everyday, and it never gets old. My old vocal rooster, however, is about to go to the crockpot after I finish out the next batch of chicks. That dude just won't ever shut up and crows nonstop day and night.
