Due to work and Army reserve duties, I've only hunted twice this year.
A nephew, who has never hunted, wants to go with me and my next available time is the first weekend in May.
Any idea if they still going to be breeding that late in the season in Lincoln County? I'd sure like him to at least be able to hear gobbling and maybe see some turkeys.

Yes they will be gobbling and breeding. They will gobble and strut into mid June.

Problem is will there be any birds to gobble?
There aren't many on our 600acre Lincoln county farm. Used to be.

I was visiting the land owner on Sun evening and saw a bearded hen out in a field. For fun, hit the box call from the driveway and heard two gobblers already on the roost. They are still there, I hope for a little while longer. An anxious 10 year old is itching to see one.

I've noticed the flocks are much, much smaller than they used to be. Even just a few years ago.
They have also moved consistently north, almost off my property and into the neighbors. Nothing about the environment has changed on mine or his.
