I took a group of buddies to our property in South Alabama in the swamps of the Tombigbee River. We don't have the giant's necessarily that y'all have here in Tennessee, but it's fun to hunt due to the variety of game. It's not uncommon to have owls hooting, turkeys cackling, coyotes yipping close by while having woodies buzzing over watching deer feed by all the while listening to hog squeals in the distance. We take a camo jon boat aka party barge or kayak across the big creek and traverse sandy banks to hunt some of the property.

We ended up killing 4 hogs, 8 woodies, a coon, opossum, a squirrel, and 2 bucks!
Oh, I can't forget the two bushels of fresh oysters and multiple racks of beer… lol

I killed an old swamp joker after shooting two big hogs Friday afternoon. My buddy who hunted harder than everyone who had only shot a spike ever killed a nice 6 point pushing does. We thought he had a non lethal shot and called off the search Friday night after an hour. After duck hunting this am, we saw the body laying! His reaction was what hunting is all about! Making memories at its finest!

That looks like a great time. My buddies and I spent a lot of time hunting around the Tombigbee river when we were at Alabama. It's a beautiful place with diverse wildlife.

Looks like a great time! Use to hunt Pickens County a lot.

One of my buddies lives in FL & always brings oysters up during deer season. This year when he stopped to get a bushel, they were out of Cedar Key ones & had to get some that came from Texas. Everyone (6) that ate them got food poisoning 🤮! Three days after we all got sick there was a recall & Galveston Bay oyster harvest was shut down due to feces!! Love oysters but won't knowingly eat another from Texas...

Nice! We are on the Clarke co/Marengo county line. Yep I've heard the same about texas oysters this year…lots of people sick. I'm pretty sure we had Louisiana ones and man they were delicious…have 17 left over to cook due to wife being preggo tonight!

Nothing like having a blast like that. Me and a few friends do that on a couple quota hunts every year. I need to find a place open same as statewide. I can take my little camper to do it more often. Congrats on the game killed and the good times.

Sounds like you were close to where I hunt in MS. We are just NW of Pickensville, AL across the river. We can be in Pickensville in less than 20 minutes and it's a whole lot closer as the crow flies.
Carrollton & Aliceville back in the 80s & 90s
