Hunting high to avoid wind

Here is my dilemma. Part of a new large lease that has very little in the way of food plots (working to change that). There is a neighboring parcel that has a large bottom of grassland with our lease bordering quite a bit of it especially in the bottom. My initial thought was to hang a lock on 15-20' off of the ground approx 50 yards off of the line and try to catch a buck scent checking the field while walking on our hardwoods. The only problem there are so many trails behind me I'm afraid hunting it without getting busted is going to be impossible. Would getting 25-30' off of the ground help me become more invisible scent wise??? Bow hunting so that's why I am wanting to get in close.

There is no such thing as scent invisible, if they are able to smell you they will. Plan accordingly.
Find the wind direction that is to your advantage and only hunt when you have it.
Yeah poor choice of words. Not so sure I am going to have that luxury in this spot as it appears that deer from all directions are coming to this pasture.

I have a spot I hunt kinda similar to what you describe. It's a hub and deer could come from any direction. I tried to bow hunt it and would get busted every time. Play the wind, hunt high, play the thermals, you name it… I couldn't win. When I stopped bow hunting it and saved the spot for gun season, I started putting bucks on the wall. Moral of this story is, use all of the tools available to you. If you can only bow hunt you're just gonna have to get in there and see what you can get away with and you might have to live with getting busted on occasion. If that's the case, I would only hunt it on the very best couple days a year rather than burn the spot on marginal days. Good luck whatever you decide.
