Hunting in the rain

Given what I have had around this year, I probably would have shot him.

Sitting in the rain wasn't really an issue today for me, stand I hunted is wrapped in canvas and has canvas over the top. Nice to stay dry.

This year hasn't been great for sightings either on a tractor or cameras but I'm blessed that this place has some really nice deer even though I haven't seen them at all this year.

Perfect conditions to hunt in the plastic type hut I have today overlooking some cereal rye and wheat. Didn't see a ton of deer but this handsome fella fed

Your patience will pay off...and my guess is your patience contributes to having an older age class of deer around...which contributes to having "good" deer around..just as much or more than genetics does...cant do much about genetics but we can improve age structure with patience and my guess is your patience has or will pay off in a big way.

I've never been a fan of hunting in the rain, but it paid of big-time for me this year. Killed my 4 1/2 year-old buck in the pouring rain just at dark, opening afternoon of MZ season. Was in a Sportsman's Condo overlooking a small food plot and the buck followed a doe into the plot.
