Hunting inside LBL Campground

Seen a news article that LBL is opening up Piney Campground and 2 others to archery hunting for the balance of hunting season. Do they normally do that? Seems like a fun way to feel the freezer if in the need. Seen plenty of deer during our stay at Piney during the Nov gun hunt.

I believe this is the first time. I've seen some pretty tame deer in the Piney campground during my stays there.

They used to do this in the late 90's I believe, season also used to be open until mid Jan.

I saw a nice 8 cross between guard station and entrance. It went into the maintenance area.

They used to open piney along with some other no hunting zones in December quite often.

Used to be a guy on here, Rich I think was his name. He used to hunt the open Piney hunts. Had some cool pics stalking deer around the restroom or something. He was a great guy.
