I ask this because my dad and I are weekend hunters and there's only 3 weekends left. We have been hunting a piece of land, WMA, but just havent been able to connect yet, although we have had alot of fun. We're thinking about giving another WMA a try, Cheatham, but I was wondering if its really just too late to be trying to hunt a new WMA having only three weekends left and it being a pretty big tract, or if it would still work?
We will try to find a high ridge to listen from if we go but I dont want to annoy other folks by using locators, what's your view on that?

Thanks alot guys, yall are really a good group.

Yeah I'd just go find a high ridgetop and just listen, try not to use the locators they've prob been hooted and crowed to death by now,I'd still go and give it a try though, you never know! Good luck!

Thanks to everybody, I appreciate it greatly.

We'll try to head out friday afternoon and saturday as well, hope things work out!

Cheatham is really hard to hunt this late in the season but if you are gonna go i would hunt the first road past the checking station on your right an go all the way to the back. good luck

Saw O'Neal Outside show on TV this past Sunday with an experienced old guy talking about turkey hunting. He said, "Just go. If you think it's too windy, just go. If you think it's too wet, just go. If you think it's too warm, just go." etc....
Good advice.
