Does anyone with a compound bow and release still hunt with something other than a drop away rest or a biscuit? I don't like the biscuit, or the half baked biscuits like the Octane, so I was wondering what other people use.

I love my hostage arrow rest...I have the regular one...Nothing but good things to say about it..

I use the NAP Apache . Yes , it's a drop away rest , but it's full containment .
I have never had a problem with the WB either .

I used all of them.

THey ALL have their pros and cons.

THe Trophy Taker is still on one of my bows while my front bow has a new Rip Cord.

I shot my Rip Cord rest only about 100 times before I started noticing my cord fraying where it comes out of the body of the rest. THey promptly sent me 2 new cords and a new red launcher arm. Then I used a drill bit to woller out the hole a little. SO far, no more problems.

Supposedly, the newer Rip Cords don't have this problem.

So far, the Trophy Taker has given me NO problems at all. And I've been using one for years.

I like the Whisker Biscuit but hunt in VERY rough, thick areas. I have had to deal with the biscuit getting bent and loose more than once.

Biscuit here since they came out. Before that i used a flipper.
Yea I have a Drop Zone in the bow box along with a few other rest but the bisquit is the best hunting rest. You can let down your draw and arrow want come off or a situation where the arrow might come off and it want happen with the bisquit. I shot a Mathews Monster with a bisqit rest and they work great together.

Bisquit here, I am not a fan of having more moving parts if they are not necessary

Allthough this releas company is no longer making this drop away release i managed to find a few on e-bay and i will never switch to another. this one has no cable to mal function, it works solely on kinetic energy and has never failed to drop properly. i purchased this one in 2003 when i bought this Razor tec by Hoyt. it is the most awesome drop away on the market and i cant for the life of me understand why guys would want one that has a cable on it that could catch a limb or briar and yank it off the bow string? anyway, i know you werent interested in a drop away but you cant do better than this one. I have taken around 20 deer using it in those last 7 seasons including one turkey. no regrets.

I'm not sure about the knobs on the Apache. Looks like it would be easy to bump it and loosen it up. There may be a way to lock it down though.

They can be moved into different threaded positions on the knob to place them inward to avoid contact . I moved them inward just before locking them down and they are rock solid .
