Me and a buddy set out this morning to go fishing, but as always this time of year I brought a couple locator calls with me. Instead of heading straight for the fishing holes we went to a couple locations where we may do some hunting on the lake. Just as I turned the boat off some geese that were flying by were honking and that's all it took to set off gobblers from THREE directions! right in front of us on top of a hill sounded like multiple birds so I dropped my buddy off to walk up the hill and take a look in the green field on top. He came back down a few minutes later with some pictures of 4 longbeards and a group of hens! He said if it was legal he could have linited out right then. He got within 30 yards of them before they eased off into the field with the hens. To hear four birds all gobbling their heads off simultaniously and at least 5 other birds in a couple other locations has got me tore up! Now I'm absolutely pumped for turkey season to get here!
