I have a Frankford Arsenal Powder measure tool that I invested a lot of time on trying to get it to work with H335 for my 223 loading. it was so frustrating and miserable to work with I gave it up, put it aside, and hoped no one ever asked me about it.
But I screwed up some 223 brass and had to unload, size with Small Base die, and re-load and I was way behind schedule-i figured at least 800 rounds. I re-set my SB die, triple checked for fit in both 223 rifles, and got going. Every 30 rounds I did another trial fit. At the end FL sizing 800 rounds I figured I was back on schedule. Had to stop and clean the die about halfway.
I tumbled 250 at a time in my 2200 Lyman. I used my RCBS primer tool to prime (I broke this somehow) and used up nearly all the third-world primers I had in stock. Anyone close by need Small Rifle primers just drop me a PM. Cannot ship them so you gotta be close by. The price is free.
So finally ready to charge some cases with H335, which is a teeny tiny flake powder that flies around with no visible reason for doing so. I look at 800 cases and think, I got to get the Frankford working. So i break it out, load it up, try to throw some charges. Too heavy. Adjust down. Too light. Adjust up. Light bulb goes off...someone posted up how much powder in the holding chamber has an effect. I load up the holding chamber to about 3/4 mark. Throw charge. Too heavy. adjust, throw charge, still too heavy but it looked to me like the adjustment worked. Repeat, two more times, very tiny increments, unreal, I am dropping charges of 24.9 grains every freaking time. I start loading cases. I get ten loaded #11 I weigh. Continue continue,,,,,AH HA!! When you see the baffle tent top, refill holding chamber back to just under 3/4.
3 pounds plus of H335 later, I have 800 cases charged. Son is loading 55 grain FMJ's. I loaded a few into my Caldwell AR15 MagLoader and in 6 seconds loaded a 30 round mag, I like this thing a lot. My Son took a cheapo LULA and emptied that magazine near as fast as I loaded it....highly recommended.
A great way to chew up some time.
