Anyone ever leave a camera up over the winter 6 hrs away in another State like Kansas so you could see what bucks survived the season only to show up 4 1/2 months later to discover your batteries are still fine and you have zero pictures because YOU FORGOT TO TURN THE DANG CAMERA ON?

ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not really up on or into the Hi Tech camera's. I have a cousin that is the manager of a Big lease/camp in La. They have been installing cellular camera's.They are hooked up to solar battery chargers. He can turn them on and off. download pictures, even get live updates before putting clients on stands. All from his cell phone where ever he is at pretty amazing stuff. He had one almost stolen. The camera sent a picture of the would be thief to his phone. He was waiting down the road at the guys house with the cops before he got home.

Cannt believe the manufacteror of a camera that doesnt come on automatically.
"Dont believe i would have said that?"Everyones done it.Just not many will admit it.

Batteries do last a long time though.

I don't think I would have told that....

I hope others will remember my post the next time they close the lid on one...

I did have two other cameras a few miles away that I did manage to turn on correctly, so all was not lost. However, the one that I forgot to turn on was overlooking a heavily traveled pinch point that was the best spot of the three.

Pretty sure I won't make that mistake again.

Like others have said, not for a camera so far away or for so long a time period, but yeah, I've done it. FAR more times than I care to admit. I've done it so often that I've had to create a "system" for checking cameras--sort of a "pre-flight checklist"--that forces me to go through the whole camera check sequence in a set pattern, with DOUBLE-CHECKING that the camera is back on as the last thing on the list.

At least your camera was still there. I left mine out for 2 months after the season ended here 5 miles from my house, and somebody walked off with it. It was a good Bushnell, too. :(

Yep, you need a pre-job brief form.
