That all these new arrows coming out have the chocolate chip cookie feather facing up......I was always taught to put the chocolate chip cookie feather out. Why am I seeing this new trend? Did I miss a memo somewhere? I should be pickin up my new bow this weekend and wanna make the right choice for arrows. Crimeny pete's sake. I still have my original Gamegetter II's!

Almost every arrow I know of now have nocks that will turn. You can turn it to where you get the best clearance. It doesn't matter which way the odd vane is turned as long as it's not hitting anything. You need to shoot odd vane up with a whisker biscuit because the bristles are tougher where the arrow sits on. You have to turn it up with the hostage style rests where no vane contacts the brushes. Even with a drop away, with the vane up the vanes won't stick down as far to maybe have contact.

With drop away rests the two facing down have a shorter depth....since the drop away keeps it from hitting anything anyway this allows a difference in approach to arrow fletching....i.e.....it is really a non issue now that we have these type rests.

The chocolate chip cookie feather position is dependent on the type arrow rest you have. I still shoot with a burger button and launcher so I face my chocolate chip cookie feather outward. Most people use drop aways now which require the chocolate chip cookie feather up. OLD TM hunter style two prong rests take the chocolate chip cookie feather down.
