I did say kinda.

They have spent the last few weeks in the forgotten shadows hearing about TN, ad nauseum I'm sure, for weeks.

They come out and take care of business, convincingly, over the #1 team; yet they are once again are relegated to second fiddle to LSU/Bama in the media coverage today.

Talk about being the red-headed step child.

BUT, I have no doubt that Kirby played that up and had his team and his fans juiced up for the game yesterday, and they played like it. I do think the crowd affected us as well.

When we got the early turnover, and then only got a FG out of it, and then soon after Hooker overthrew what looked like a sure TD, I knew we were in deep trouble.

It's going to be a fun ride the rest of the way!

Take the good with the bad..

Go Vols

Agreed. I believe the noise hurt them and for the first time in two seasons Hooker looked scared and confused, just standing in the pocket like a statue looking for players that are normally open instead of getting away from the pressure

They deserved to lose that game. Didn't even seem like they wanted to be there. I knew we were in trouble last week. They beat bama, which took the pressure off, and then the number 1 ranking made them too comfortable. They thought they were gonna roll into Athens and win. They got punched right in the mouth.

They practice with the speakers blasting noise from Neyland stadium crowd so they should have been used to that. But, that said, it was obvious the O line forgot how to watch the snap of the ball before moving many many times. They were intimidated by the ga team, and played that way thru the whole game seemed to me. We know that Georgia's D is for real now tho. 😄

The better team won. UT has played above their talent level all year long and I'm so proud of those guys. Kirby has done an amazing job (maybe too good) recruiting the last few years and he has everyone in the country outgunned.
With Clemson and Bama losing my guess is UT only slides back to 5. We would hammer TCU but they'll hold that 4 spot for being undefeated. Hopefully someone looks real bad in the OSU/Mich game.

I didn't play or coach college football so I can't say for sure, but all the talking heads (ex coaches and players) were saying you can practice with speakers all you want but it doesn't simulate game noise in a hostile stadium.

Yea, the so-called #1 Vols came into Athens with National praise and pooped the bed. There was a reason the AP and Coaches polls didn't have TN as #1. (also Vegas had GA as a 2-score favorite)

The way I see it is there's Georgia and then everybody else. They came out with a chip on their shoulder and took care of business on both sides of the ball. No trick plays or bad calls by the refs. They showed the Vols and the nation who's at the top of the food chain right now. It's really that simple.

Rather they loose in Athens and learn about noise before USC. Get ready for the COLUMBIAN CHICKEN CHOKERS !!!! That's gonna be LOUD!
