Raining and couldn't work so went to Tenn. Got on this bird at 715 and didn't pull the trigger till 12:50. I didn't like where I was so I didn't get into position to call till 10:15. I had sat in an ants nest and them suckers ate me up and I couldn't move. I could see him and he was in range for about 45 min but kept some briars between us that I didn't want to shoot through. Look where his muddy feet jumped up on the log before I blew him off it

So, let me get this straight. You sat for 3 hrs before you ever called, all the while sitting in ants? And then, you worked him for another 2 1/2 hrs?

That's almost too tall of a tale to not be true :D !

Congrats!

I love a good dual.... I battled one 8hrs yesterday before he gave me the slip. Caught back up with him at 7pm so I knew about where he was gonna be roosted. Slipped back in this morning and was settled in by 4:45. He made short work of me today.
Game over at 6:45 when he and a hen skirted my set up. Last I saw them they were headed for my truck.
Think I'll let him rest for a few days...

No when I sat down at 1015 is when I sat on the ants. The first 3 hours I was comfy but getting rained on [emoji2]

Gz! way to stick with him! I think the longest I've ever stayed with a single bird was 3 hours. I don't have the patience to go more than 2 hours usually.
