It's going to be a tough re-acclimation period into civilian life, and will be a LONG 10 1/2 months before it rolls around again. I just hope God grants me another season, and am thankful for this one.

I had a great season with many memories made. I got to hunt with my dad another spring, and he had a great season. And I also was able to help the old fella we hunt with in Wilson Cty get a bird.

I also took a fella Saturday morning who hasn't hunted before. We heard no gobbles, which was a disappointment, but having a hen at 10 steps yelping for me was the next best thing. He was pumped over seeing that.

I know many had tough seasons, and I have had them before. My only advice between now and next season is be vigilant about finding other properties to hunt. You can NEVER have too many places. Mention it to friends, family, church goers, coworkers, waitresses, etc. Somebody knows somebody who has some property with turkeys. You may get shot down 99 out of 100 times, but all it takes is 1.

I will get to relive this past season as I put together the DVD from the footage and pictures I took this season. I will give it to my dad for Father's Day and also keep a copy to relive it.

Let's do it again next year!

As crappy as the last week or so was, I had a great season and killed a bunch of birds in multiple states. I worked a ton of birds this year and as always really enjoyed the greatest show on earth.

I'm always sad when it's over and can't believe each year how everything takes a back seat to the crazy turkeys. I've got a mountain of catching up to do

I love deer hunting but by the end I'm glad it's over. When turkey hunting ends there's a coping period where I'm on the verge of needing a counselor [emoji1]. Yesterday I was testing a buddy's gun and I was walking to the garage after I shot and a bird gobbles across the road. I ran in and got my call and he answered as well as a hen. Made me smile but it's going to be a long 10 months

Although I deer hunt, hog hunt, and fish, they are all just things I do to fill the gap between turkey season. It is what I live for. The day after is always tough. Been cleaning and putting up clothes, vests, and calls all day. I thank the Lord for another great season and hope to be blessed with another. Uncle and cousin are coming up from Florida to haul two bull calves back this weekend. They are bringing me a well bred 8 week old Cur pup that I have been promised for 3 years now :) Getting him started should keep me busy all summer. Of course hauling him to the woods will have to wait a couple 3 weeks until gobbling and breeding die off some. To go up there and hear turkeys gobbling would drive me crazy, to the point of loading up and coming home :)

I don't miss it yet. I hunted so hard this season that I passed on hunting the last few days. I killed my third turkey of the season last Thursday and decided I would end on a high note. I'm ready to start fishing now but after deer season I'll be anxious to get back out in the turkey woods. I was close to burn out!

I just put up my calls and will clean and put up the shotgun later in the week. As has already been stated, fishing and deer hunting are place holders until turkey opens again. I honestly think that if I didn't have a job or family that I could get up every day of the season and go after them. I miss it already.

Feels like a gut punch knowing I can't go this Saturday.
I've gotta go through and put my stuff away and clean my gun this week after I get my garden planted and my yard work caught up.

Man I hate the end of season. I've gone to working around the garden and stuff to try and keep my mind off the fact I can't chase gobblers for another year.

It'd be a close race as to whether I liked turkey hunting or deer hunting the most. I lost my turkey ground and haven't been now in 4 years or so you guys that still hunt yearly only think you miss it. ;)
