Alright, so I bought a new bow (had one previously, so I'm not new to shooting). It's a 2009 Bear Game Over that I got brand new on closeout since it was an old model. The shop I ordered it from set it up for me before they shipped it to me. I get it in and had a problem with not really being able to see through the peep sight. I took it to a local shop and had a different peep sight (the rubber tube type) put on. Got it home and same problem - could barely see the pins because it was like the peep was too small (I really think it's too low).

So I have been wanting to try the SABO sight for some time, so I ordered it and figured I'd just forget the peep altogether. So, I'm trying to get the bow sighted in today and it's all over the place. Three in a row might be touching each other, then the next time I shoot them, they might land 9 inches apart from each other in any given direction. I'm about at my wits end trying to figure this out.

I know I'v heard the word "tune" when talking about bows, but I've never needed to worry about something like this before. Do y'all think my bow is "out of tune" or think something else is going on?

man hard to say, you can always try and walk back tune it (search it on youtube, very easy to do) but it could be your grip or form for that matter. could be a bunch of different issues without seeing it.

as far as small peep you can always drill out the hole to make it bigger. Could be the new non peep set up or something moving. I am no expert so these are just all my opinions but im sure someone on here can prob help a bit more.

Thanks REN. It could be a lot of things I'm doing wrong, but I'm very conscious of my grip (or lack thereof), so I'm pretty sure that's not my issue. I'll take a look at the walk back tune.

the only real odd part to me is they a set will group fine then the same set will be all over. if it were an actual bow issue (cams, string, nock point ect...)it would usually be consistently inconsistent.

paper tuning may give you some insite but paper tuning does not tell the whole story. if you paper tune it then walk back tune it and all checks out then i would think it is an arrow or form issue.

i have a bear assault and a buddy that has the attack and the truth2 and none have had issues with tuning them.

what kind of rest and arrows are you shooting? what LBS and DRAW? you may also want to double check that your brace height and axle to axle is still measured out to where it should be and has not gotten out of sorts when the other shop was setting it up.

again just to be clear i am no expert...you may want to go over to www.archerytalk.com and see if any of those guys can help out...there are a ton of very knowledgeable dudes over there (prob more then here on a consistent bases)

It's set at 31" and 70lbs. (I'm a big feller) and I'm shooting Carbon Express Mutiny 350 arrows thru a whisker biscuit.

I had that problem many years ago. I put a kisser button on my string and fixed it. It seems I was not anchoring exactly the same way each shot but the button corrected it.

can you give more details on grouping? i mean out of 12 shots what i the target like. is there any pattern to some hitting (like 2 out of every 3 or what not).

could be an anchoring issue depending on your set up. do you have a set anchor point with each draw?

I'm thinking y'all might be onto it here. I'm thinking my anchor point is the issue. Since the SABO sight doesn't use a peep, it's a little harder for me to ensure I'm anchoring correctly. I'm gonna start by going to the local archery shop and getting the peep issue fixed and getting on target with a regular pin sight. That way I know everything is working right on the bow. Then, I think I'll move on to the SABO. One thing at a time. :)

Thank ya fellas!!

Try a larger holed peep. Add a Kisser button.

That's the plan!

I did a little research and it seems that some folks like the smaller peeps like mine is set-up for (where you can barely fit your pins in the peep hole). I don't care for it a bit!

Smaller peep is a little more accurate but bad for hunting imo. Bigger peep lets a lot more light through to the eye and extends hunting time late in the evening!

Yeah, that seemed to be the gist I gathered while reading about it. There's way too much going on in the woods during the first 30 min and last 30 min of daylight to have a small peep that won't let me get a good shot off!
