Started out at 15 yards bare shaft tuning . Made minor adjustments and then went back to 20 , got it really close . Normally I would be happy with my results from 20 but this year I'm just in an overachieving mood . Went to 30 and made my final adjustments . Here is my last two adjustments from 30 . I think ill be happy with that .

Here is an end with a bare shaft from 20 I shot the other day. I think shooting bare shafts not only verifies tune but gives me instant feedback on form issues.

I can get them to shoot softball sized groups and larger past 40 but I feel like I'm not a good enough "form wise" shooter to shoot bare shafts past 30

I've shot bare shafts at 40 yards. It's tough and I won't even attempt it if I'm not shooting good that day. I've lost a few trying. My shafts tend to shoot right with a nock left orientation if I'm adding any torque in my release hand or bow hand. When I'm shooting really well I can shoot a bare shaft at 40 and sometimes hit where I was aiming lol.

I made a new discovery tonight and figured this thread would be a good spot to discuss.

I noticed today a different noise coming from my bow. I looked it over and noticed a spot on the rest where I was possibly getting some fletching contact. Sure enough I was getting fletching contact so something changed with my drop away rest. The interesting thing is my bow still shoots a bare shaft absolutely perfect at 20 yards. I guess my drop away is not "dropping away" and fletched arrows make contact but bare shafts do not. I always believed a bare shaft shooting correctly means a bow is tuned but tonight proved that is not the case 100% of the time.
