Got on this bird mid morning yesterday after hearing him gobbling on the top of a steep ridge running north/south. After getting up to the top I was figuring probably 150 yards south of him or so when I got sat down and let out a series of calls, he answered quickly and as I started looking around for shot windows I realized I was in a bad spot , pretty flat just super thick . Well sure enough next time I called he hammered again but only 50 yards or so , then I hear him drumming and walking right past me but I can't see him due to the thickness. He continues on about 75 yards past me or so I am guessing and starts hammering away. I spin around tree and throw everything I have at him and he ain't budging , lay of the land left me with no option to move on him so I just waited 30 min and left! Today same deal I started off at another spot but stopped by this place around 830 and sure enough he was at it again on the far north side again, I got up the ridge as fast as I could to the south point he seemed to like yesterday and started hollering at him and in a couple min he closed a lot of distance and walked right down the gun barrel , revenge is sweet!
